Step 1: Accessing Cockpit

Ensure that Cockpit is installed on your Ubuntu 23.10 server. You can access Cockpit by opening a web browser and navigating to:

Replace “your-server-ip” with the actual IP address of your Ubuntu server.

Step 2: Logging in to Cockpit

Enter your system credentials to log in to Cockpit.

Step 3: Navigating to Virtual Machines

Once logged in, navigate to the “Virtual Machines” section in the Cockpit dashboard.

Step 4: Creating a Virtual Machine

Click on the “Create VM” button to start the virtual machine creation process.

Step 5: Configure Virtual Machine Settings

Fill in the required information such as the VM name, operating system, memory, and storage settings. You can also specify the installation source for the operating system.

In my case, I am going to use Kali Linux where I use the download link from the Kali Linux website.

Click “Create” to start the virtual machine installation process. Then use the VNC viewer to use the VM.

Step 7: Monitor the Installation

Monitor the installation progress and wait for the virtual machine to be created.

Step 8: Accessing the Virtual Machine

Once the installation is complete, you can access and manage your virtual machine from the Cockpit dashboard.
